i2 Wins Queen's Award for Enterprise Innovation Category
Award recognises the role that i2's Intelligence-Led Operations Platform provides for every phase of operations in the prevention of crime and terrorism

Cambridge, UK, 21 April 2010: i2, the leading provider of intelligence and investigation software, has received the Queen's Award for Enterprise in the Innovation category. This is in recognition of the support that its Intelligence-Led Operations Platform provides for every phase of operations in the prevention of crime and terrorism.

The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are among the UK's most prestigious awards for business performance. The Innovation Award in particular recognises those organisations demonstrating substantial and sustained improvement in business performance and commercial success as a result of outstanding innovation in products or services.

Introduced in May 2009, i2's integrated Intelligence-Led Operations Platform delivers an integrated set of powerful analysis, visualisation and management applications built to identify hidden connections and patterns from disparate data sources.

"This award is a fitting tribute to the continuing achievements of the company and our employees in helping analysts and law enforcement personnel investigate, predict, prevent and defeat the world's most sophisticated criminal and terrorist threats," said i2 CEO Robert Griffin. "The success of the Intelligence-Led Operations Platform is our most powerful tool yet to help our customers make sense of the information blizzard by connecting the right dots and understanding what they mean."

Industry leading heritage

Starting with its original visualisation and analysis tool, Analyst's Notebook - recognised today as the industry benchmark - i2 has continued to work closely with customers to identify their requirements and develop appropriate responses.

Since launching in the UK in 1990, i2 has well-established relationships with a large number of police forces, government agencies and commercial organisations. In fact, all UK police forces and national security agencies utilise i2 technology to help fulfil their missions on a daily basis.

"Our dedicated employees work side by side with our law enforcement and intelligence clients to develop innovative new features, applications and other improvements to disrupt criminal and terrorist threats, making our solution the go-to technology for more than 4,500 organizations in almost 150 countries," said Griffin.

The unique modular approach of i2's Intelligence-Led Operations Platform allows customers to personalise the solution to meet their requirements by selecting the data acquisition, visual analysis and information sharing capabilities they need. In responding directly to the identified need within enterprise clients for centralised control over key aspects of their IT infrastructure, this platform provides a step-change in functionality over what had previously been available in the marketplace.
